NMIX 4110: New Media Production

Going into NMIX 4110: New Media Production, I knew very little about web design and coding. I had some very minor experience with WordPress in high school, but that was it. After finishing this course, I now know a great deal. I am am knowledgeable in using HTML, Bootstrap, and I am somewhat advanced at using WordPress. I will be better suited to my professional goals because now I can confidently create a website for any purpose I need. Whether that be to service a creative project like promoting my stand-up comedy or a web series, or more practical like if I need to demonstrate web design knowledge for a future job. In this class the project I’m most proud of is my final project, a website I made for the band Hotel Burgundy, which is made up of some of my close friends from high school.

I decided to make that my final project because I knew working with a client would make me more motivated and focused than if I was just doing something for myself. I am very proud of how it turned out.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed this class and learned a ton. John Weatherword was a great, patient instructor whose teaching style worked for all levels of experience.

This has been my favorite class of the three classes I have taken so far along my New Media journey.
